About Shekar Jayaraman
Hello, my name is Shekar Jayaraman, and I am the founder of Jayaraman Law, where I focus on Estate Planning, Business Planning, and Real Estate Law. With a strong background in both the public and private sectors, I am dedicated to providing my clients with passionate, zealous, and detail-oriented advocacy.
My legal journey has been shaped by high-level judicial clerkships, corporate governance expertise, and a commitment to consumer protection. I had the honor of serving as a Judicial Clerk for a U.S. Magistrate Judge, focusing on violent crimes, and as a Judicial Extern for another U.S. Magistrate Judge. I also worked under the Ohio Secretary of State as a Regional Liaison, handling Business Services and Elections.
Academically, I earned an LL.M. in Business and Corporate Governance from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a J.D. from the University of South Dakota, where I was elected Student Bar Association President and placed first in the Alternative Dispute Resolution competition. I am admitted to practice in Illinois and South Dakota, as well as several U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts.
At Jayaraman Law, I leverage my federal clerkship experience, meticulous research and writing skills, and deep legal knowledge to serve my clients with excellence. Whether assisting with estate planning, business structuring, or real estate transactions, I approach every case with precision, strategy, and a commitment to results.
Beyond my legal practice, I am actively involved in the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and several other professional and community organizations. I am also fluent in English and conversant in Tamil.
