About Richard Eagles

Richard Eagles, the founder of The Eagles Law Firm, is a South Florida native who loves his home state and the people who reside within it. Prior to opening The Eagles Law Firm, Mr. Eagles began his law career serving the citizens of South Florida who were accused of committing a crime but could not afford to hire a lawyer through his work at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. Richard has taken numerous misdemeanor and felony cases and has a strong record of success. As an assistant public defender, Richard developed and honed his skills to aggressively advocate on behalf of his clients, negotiate favorable resolutions, and, when necessary, take his clients’ cases to trial.

After the Public Defender’s Office, Richard entered private practice as civil litigator defending property insurance and personal injury lawsuits. As a civil defense attorney, he learned the assessments used by insurance companies in making coverage and payment determinations, and how to pursue compensation for the injured.

In 2019, Mr. Eagles founded The Eagles Law Firm, P.A. and resumed his work as a criminal defense attorney protecting the rights of the accused and making sure the government was not breaking the law while prosecuting cases. In the Fall of 2020, Richard began transitioning the firm into the area of estate planning and decided it was time to hang up the “litigation shoes.” While he still loves helping people navigate legal matters, Richard discovered his love for helping people plan to avoid legal issues rather than merely respond to them after they have arisen. Today Richard focuses exclusively in the area of estate planning and helping his clients and their families enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing everyone will be taken care of if the unthinkable or inevitable happens. Witnessing the relief that everyone feels once their estate plan has been completed or updated and seeing his clients go on live happy lives is what motivates him most. Richard finds this area of practice to be highly rewarding and he looks forward to meeting with you to help you achieve that same relief and peace of mind.
