Hi, I’m Rebecca Begelman Strub, a Personal Family Lawyer in Highland Park, NJ. I founded Strub Law LLC to help people protect their families, preserve their assets, and pursue their legacies. One focus is creating very comprehensive plans to keep your minor children (or anyone needing your care, including pets!) in the care you choose. We are committed to making the process of facing your death as easy and comfortable for you as possible while helping you to see how facing your death makes your life so much better.
I graduated from University of Chicago in 1994 with honors (BA, East Asian Languages and Civilizations), spent three years working in Japan, and graduated from the School of Law of Washington University in St. Louis in 2000. After practicing with a small firm where everything was billed in 6-minute increments, I decided to pursue a Certificate in Estate Planning and LL.M. in Tax at Temple University, graduating in 2005. Soon after, my husband and I moved to New Jersey and started our family. When my two kids were in pre-school, in 2010, I opened my law firm to help families with estate planning.
Soon after, I found NLBM and fell in love with the philosophy, and became a PFL. I want to help you make decisions that will make your family’s relationships stronger. I want to help you ensure your generational wealth is there to support your family in the way you want through your lifetime and beyond. And, “generational wealth” is not only your money but also the intangible assets that are most often lost when someone dies — the intellectual, spiritual, and human assets that are as important as the money.
I am the Treasure of Main Street Highland Park and Co-President (Jan 2023) of the Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah, as well as a member of the BNI Developers Chapter, the Bridgewater Professionals Group, and the New Jersey State Bar Association (member of the Elder & Disability Law and Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Sections).
And, most importantly, I am a mom, like many of my clients. My husband and I are proud to watch my two sons become menschen (but are not thrilled that our two cats dislike each other!). I enjoy cooking, entertaining, and yoga.
It was an amazing experience, my fiancé and I have never gone through paper work like this and Rebecca was patient and kind and very professional with everything. We are so pleased with the outcome and made making a will comfortable. Thank you again so much for such a great experience. – Allison A.
Very smooth, transparent, and simple. Rebecca was there for me every step of the process and made sure that I fully understood everything that was going on. – Bobby P.
It was a pleasure working with you regarding my mom’s will in a professional manner. You organized, explained and provided great detail the will that was easy for my mom to understand. It was great experience for my mom. The expertise that you provide in the field of trust and will is great. You did a wonderful job! – Jo T.
Best description would be comfortable. All my questions were answered & the process was easy and professional. Thank you for making me comfortable about how my estate will be handled. – Terry D.
Rebecca is thorough in her descriptions about the options I can take advantage of and the implications of choosing one option over another (Trusts, Power of Attorneys, Wills, Living Wills). In my case, I have complex family relationships which she was able to work with. She updates me about changes in the law and how I am affected or could be. …No matter how many questions I have, she remains patient and respectful. I might expect that, but not everyone I’ve worked with responds to multiple questions or having to respond differently if I didn’t understand her first explanation as well as Rebecca has. – Shelee S.
Professional and pleasant. Don’t change a thing; you are perfect. – Michael R.
Extremely flexible, detailed and supportive. Rebecca offered a lot of explanation to various parts of the will. Wonderful services. Thank you again! – Melanie B.
We begin with a comprehensive inventory of everything you own, and everyone you love, and consider it all in a working meeting, called a Family Wealth Planning Session, to guide you to clarify your financial life and legacy goals before we draft a single document.
We work with you throughout every life stage to map out the most likely scenarios for you and the people you love, planning for each as your life, the law, and your assets change over time.
Our Life & Legacy Planning process ensures everything that matters most -- from your financial assets to your values, insights, stories and experience -- are captured and documented during your life and cared for over the generations to come.
Transparency in our process, and our fees … all of which are flat fees, agreed to in advance, based on your choices and with no surprises, ensuring we stay on the same side of the table - supporting you to make a lifetime of great decisions - every step of the way.
Our systems help you get clear and organized, overcoming the exact issues that keep most estate plans from actually working when they are needed most. We help you leave your family with a gift of love, and not a mess.
One-and-done estate plans focused only on money are a recipe for a big mess. We help you throughout every stage of life and be there for the people you love, when you can’t be.
