Melissa Harrison

I love helping people do things that make their lives better, whether that means helping them solve a problem or set up structures that make it less likely they ever encounter problems in the first place. I enjoy living life to the fullest, and I believe with all my heart that the only way to do that completely is to serve others in some capacity.

I have been practicing law in Northeast Mississippi for 22 years, and in that time I have been honored to work with countless families, individuals, and businesses to help them take care of all that matters most to them. When I graduated in the top of my class and as a Law Review editor at the University of Alabama School of Law, I took my dream job at a large firm in North Mississippi, but I quickly realized that was not my path. My path was not so well defined, and resulted in an exciting and rewarding career that also allowed me to be the kind of wife and mother I wanted to be while my children were growing up. I wouldn’t recommend to every new lawyer to go out and start her own Lawfirm, but I would 100% recommend it to those who, like me, are called to do just that.

Now that my children are in their early twenties and pursuing their own dreams, my husband of 27 years and I are enjoying finding new and exciting ways to serve our community with the additional time an “empty nest” provides. We travel extensively, and always come back with a new perspective of the world and the wonderful people who live in it everywhere.
