Hi, I’m Kristen Mackintosh, The Happy Lawyer. Yes, I am a lawyer and I am happy. I’m happy because I get to work with my clients to go beyond the document only estate planning service.

As a child of a disabled parent and caregiver, I know first-hand how important estate planning is. And, more importantly, how crucial it is to know where your assets are so your loved ones won’t have to go through 3 years of tracking assets down like I had to do.

As a personal family lawyer, I get the opportunity to really get to know you and what your unique needs are. We work together gathering your assets and then planning the right plan for you. I help you understand the choices you are making and offer solutions to your pressing needs.

Whether you’re married or single, a traditional family or a blended one, starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, we will help you to craft a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come. And, we provide you with delicious homemade cookies and mini-loaves. Most importantly, we try to make estate planning a pleasant experience for you. Here, you are treated like a family member.

I am a North Carolina native but spent a large portion of my school years in Ohio. I was a courtroom attorney and then a magistrate. When I moved back home to North Carolina, I decided to become an estate planning attorney.
