I love helping families use estate planning to heal their relationships rather than perpetuate conflict therefore I have a policy that I do not disinherit a family member without exploring all options first. I believe in the sacredness of the family and that my clients will care about what they did or did not do in preparing their beneficiaries to receive their assets and legacy once they have gone. I love helping them think through these circumstances and opening their hearts and minds to the possibilities and the potential simplicity of proper planning. However, I am not afraid of using needed structures to mitigate tax burdens or create multi-generational opportunities or protection for beneficiaries. I believe in estate planning that is guided by love and governed by law.
I participate in my community as chair of the Utah Women and Leadership Project-Utah Valley, 100 Women Who Care-Utah Valley, the Utah Bar’s Business and Estate Planning sections, Mountainland Association of Governments Caregiver Coalition, and the Leadership Board at Utah Valley University. I value my membership in the Purposeful Planning Institute and Family Firm Institute and am currently pursuing my Certificates in Family Wealth and Family Business Advising. I earned my B.A. in History and Gerontology and J.D. degree from BYU. My husband and I have five dynamic children in college and one adored caboose at home. I love camping and hiking the National Parks with my family in my rehabbed 1966 Jet Trailer.
Klea Harris is the only person I’ve been willing to work with on our estate and will. I’ve avoided this for years and have been nervous trusting others. She is very kind and compassionate during this potentially challenging process and also extremely knowledgable and efficient. She makes the experience quite simple and rewarding and so organized. I’m so grateful we finally got it done and had such professional help through the process. – Jill F.
Klea makes the difficult process of estate planning easier with her kindness and compassionate concern. She is very thorough, professional and considers every contingency possible. I believe I could not have felt better about my plan from any other attorney! – Gloria B.
Klea is wonderful to work with! She is warm, family-friendly, and has always been sensitive to our needs. She is incredibly thorough, and she includes extras in her services that I suspect most other attorneys don’t offer. She is detail-oriented, super competent and professional, yet she shows genuine concern for the people she works with. We felt like friends and family, not just clients. – Glenn A.
If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely well organized to do your trust, Klea is the ‘go to’ attorney. I have some complicated issues to work through, and Klea had the solution. I am very happy with her work. Highly recommend. – Del U.
My parents had a trust made years ago and had it updated when they moved to Utah. Then they met Klea. She took a quick look at what they had and recognized immediately something was missing, and missing it was. Dad went back to the other lawyer and they missed giving him some paperwork that he should have received. My parents talked again with Klea and she asked questions on items they had never thought of before and were not necessarily addressed by their “new” trust. They had Klea update their trust with additional items that mom and dad wanted to have addressed. Dad passed not too soon afterwards and mom’s health declined. With me being the executor, and with Klea’s guidance, I am not feeling so overwhelmed with this task. Klea gives the personal touch and she feels like family. – Stacy B.
We had a very short time crunch to get a will and trust set up for my parents who both have terminal illness. I was extremely overwhelmed by the whole situation; having no idea what needed to get done or how to get things done. A family friend referred us to Klea, I was very impressed when I first met her. She was genuine, professional, easy to talk to, understanding, and quick to respond. She gave us great advice on what we should be doing, how to get things done and how to save money. Her explanations were clear and she demonstrated a great knowledge of how things worked legally. If she didn’t know something, she was quick to learn the answer and promptly got back to me. She was easy to get a hold of and made a stressful experience into one of ease. I truly felt like Klea treated my family and I as if we were her own family. She was a dream to work with. I only have wonderful things to say about her! – Shanna O.
