First and foremost, I’m a mom.
As with many parents, the transition to motherhood changed my perspective on what is important in life. As a mama, the biggest responsibility that I have is protecting my babies. As parents, we spend so much time making sure that our children have what they need to be healthy, happy and successful, whether that’s researching dozens of baby products, planning birthday parties, touring schools, being there to see our child’s big game or school play… we are constantly doing everything we can to ensure that we have set our children up for happiness and success. Yet far too often, we don’t think about and prepare for what would happen if we are no longer there for our children.
I understand that the thought of not being here for our little ones can be paralyzing, but the lack of preparedness in the event that the unthinkable happens is so much worse. I’m passionate about educating parents about estate planning and why it’s so important. I’m here to simplify the process for you, to educate you and walk you through the various options with compassion, and to empower you to make sure that you’ve done everything you can to protect and plan for your loved ones if you are no longer able to do so.
“I highly recommend Karen Ahrens at KA Law to anyone in need of an estate planning attorney. I knew that we needed to get our estate plan in place, but it was something that my wife and I just kept putting off. My biggest concern was making sure our children would be cared for in the event that anything happened to my wife and I. Until we met with Karen, I had no clue what my family would have been in for had we not planned. Karen simplified everything for us, brought up scenarios that we never would have thought of on our own, and presented us with the various options available to us to keep our family out of court and out of conflict should anything happen to us. After working with Karen, I am now confident that my family will be cared for in the way that I want if I am no longer around to do so, and that our assets will be protected. Karen is easy to talk to and has a friendly demeanor and made the entire process straightforward and stress-free. Now that our estate plan is done, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders. If you are a parent, and you are putting this off like I was, contact Karen Ahrens at KA Law. She will put you at ease and help you get it done right.”

“Ever feel like you’re floundering?! My wife and I sure did! A Will, a trust, yeah that’s probably a good idea…I’ll get to that after my sock drawer gets one more once over. We worked with Karen Ahrens of KA Law and she made the process so smooth and easy we ran out of excuses. Convenient times with an online calendar for us to schedule, a fillable form to get all your info in one place so you can really focus on the meat of this conversation that we frankly would have put off for many more years. She even came to our home and set up in our backyard to review in person although virtual meetings were an option as well. Karen was on point the whole way through and took the time to wade through all our questions, play out what-if scenarios with us and just generally be our guide through the whole thing. Let’s face it, we all think we are going to live forever, however that fallacy is simply not true. Get your life in order and use a true pro!”

“Karen Ahrens is an exceptional lawyer and thoughtful, kind person. Estate planning can feel overwhelming and arduous. Karen guided us through the process with such thoughtfulness, consideration and ease. Karen was able to thoughtfully explain the process in layperson terms. She was incredibly efficient, thorough and organized throughout the process, while patiently giving us the time and information that we needed to make important decisions affecting us and our loved ones. Karen is honest, sincere, caring and non-judgmental. She is has a strong work ethic and is committed to quality service for all of her clients. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with such important legal decisions and paperwork. I give my highest recommendation to Karen Ahrens of KA Law.”

“We worked with Karen Ahrens of KA Law. Pricing was straightforward and better than other estate lawyers we engaged with. One thing I loved was her visual representations of the different decision options we had. Understanding a somewhat complicated decision was very easy this way. Probably more importantly though was that she was always willing to explain something further, she never had to run to another meeting. We felt like we had her dedicated time and complete focus. She really cares about her clients and making sure you have the best plan in place for your family. I recommend you get your estate in order – Karen makes it easy.”
