A lifelong learner, John lived abroad in both Rome, Italy during his undergraduate time at Fordham, and in Cairo, Egypt during his time in law school at Seton Hall. While in law school John also served as an intern to The Honorable Tonianne J. Bongiovanni, USMJ, The Honorable Dennis Cavanaugh, USDJ, and spent a summer working for the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General Corp of the XVIII Airborne Corp at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While working for the JAG, John helped the Army’s prosecution of Army Sgt Timothy Hennis who was later convicted of murder after being tried for the third time under the U.S. Constitution’s “dual sovereignty” doctrine.
After law school, John clerked for the Honorable Patricia Cleary, J.S.C., in Monmouth County Superior Court where he helped the Court review arguments from counsel and make decisions on proceedings before it. After clerking for Judge Cleary, John began his private practice with the firm Kroll Heineman Carton where he focused on protecting the rights of workers in the New Jersey building trades with his clients having included labor unions, their workers, and their benefit funds. John won many awards for unpaid benefit funds owed by contractors, and litigated many lawsuits to positive outcomes under commercial contract law, employment discrimination and whistleblower law, and ERISA. John moved on to represent corporate interests at several large law firms, which included Morgan Lewis & Bockius, Kelley Drye & Warren, and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. He is trained in complex litigation and counseling, including in the areas of employment law, labor law, and corporate transactional law, and represented many large and influential corporations and financial services firms in lawsuits large and small, from individual plaintiff cases to class and collective actions.
Having an entrepreneurial spirit, and always wanting to develop and own his practice, John joined with his partner Ryan Tetro in 2022 to launch and build their own law firm. John and Ryan are intent on taking the skills they have both learned in their careers and building a strong firm that serves its clients well.
