About Jason Toomey

Hi, I’m Jason M. Toomey, founder of Intellestate Law.

With over 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property and Estate Planning, I’m passionate about helping individuals and businesses protect both their innovations and their legacies. Before launching my own firm, I spent nearly a decade and a half leading patent prosecution for a Boston tech startup, where I built and managed a portfolio of over 300 patents.

I graduated summa cum laude from New England Law | Boston, finishing first in my class and earning ten CALI Excellence for the Future awards. My legal focus includes Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, and Tax Law), Intellectual Property, and Business Law. With a background in Electrical Engineering, I am also a registered Patent and Trademark Attorney with the USPTO, securing patent protection for a wide range of inventions spanning electrical and mechanical engineering, software, and business methods.

When I’m not working with clients, I’m an enthusiastic SCUBA diver, often exploring the waters off Gloucester and Rockport, MA, or adventuring in Maine and Rhode Island. I bring the same focus and dedication to my legal practice, working closely with each client to develop customized solutions that fit their unique needs. Whether you're looking to secure a patent or create a comprehensive estate plan, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!
