Hi. I'm Deanna DeCosimo. I became a Personal Family Lawyer because I enjoy working with my clients to keep their families out of court and out of conflict. I know the traditional way estate planning is done is usually not effective. People either pay lots of money or very little for a plan that fails after death, costing their families a lot more. I am not in the business of selling documents. Instead, I get to know my clients and work with them to create a plan that leaves them feeling empowered, more relaxed, positive, and proud to know that their estate will be organized and accessible for their families after they're gone. I do not charge by the hour since this tends to prevent attorneys from getting to know their clients because it would be too expensive. I have transparent, flat-fee pricing.
I'm here to help California individuals, families, business owners, LGBTQ, and seniors, navigate the maze of legal and financial decisions you face.
Whether you are married or single, part of a traditional family or a blended one, just starting out, or looking back on a life well-lived, I will help you to design a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come.
I graduated from Glendale University College of Law in 2018. I began my legal career as the Program Coordinator and Staff Attorney for the Elder Law and Disability program at La Raza Centro Legal in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, I also volunteered with the Consumer Advocacy Project at the San Francisco Justice and Diversity Center. I represented low-income clients in consumer debt lawsuits. In 2020, I was awarded the Consumer Advocacy Project Crystal Award for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.
During the pandemic, I moved back to Los Angeles and worked as a Staff Attorney at Inner City Law Center in the Preventing and Ending Homelessness Project.
I love educating my community about protecting their children, lifetime asset protection, passing on more than just money and property to your loved ones, and pet trusts. I am an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trusts and Estates group.
And most importantly, I'm married to my fantastic husband and mother to three cats: Sunday, Snowball, and Freckles.
