Christina Garcia

Christina Garcia focuses her practice on trust-centered estate planning, as well as trust and probate administrations. She enjoys collaborating with clients to create and maintain customized estate plans. Her clients have peace of mind knowing that they will be taken care of, and their estate is prepared to avoid costly and time-consuming court proceedings, taxes, and Medi-Cal repayment.

She understands that an estate plan should last a lifetime, but needs to be reviewed every few years to ensure that it is properly maintained and funded. The best way for an estate plan to last a lifetime is to create a relationship with her clients that also lasts a lifetime.

When it is time for a trust to be administered, the trustee may retain Christina to assist with the administration. She will advise and assist the trustee with the proper steps to take during administration and will draft the documents necessary to assist the trustee in marshalling the estate assets. Her goal is to make the trust administration process as smooth and efficient as possible.

The best way to avoid probate and conservatorship proceedings is by having a properly executed and valid living trust, but if a person passes without a plan, or with only a will, Christina will also assist as counsel for the executor/administrator/conservator of the estate. She knows that those proceedings are costly, time consuming, and emotionally draining on families. She is honored to assist families during this tough time and hopes to settle the estate as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

In addition to working at Helix Law Firm, Christina currently serves on the board of directors of a not for profit corporation that raises funds for various charities throughout the year; such as, the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center, which provides a safe space and educational support to children grades 3-12 in South Los Angeles. As an alum of the Guardian Scholars Program at San Diego State University, and at Just in Time for Foster Youth, Christina understands the power of giving back to the community and empowering the next generation.

Christina is a native San Diegan who graduated from Rancho Bernardo High School, received her Bachelor of Art from San Diego State University in Political Science with a minor in Religious Studies, and received her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law.

She currently resides in East County and enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and rescue pets.
