About Allison Phillips
I love being a personal family lawyer in my community. I strive to help my clients visualize their ideas, set their goals, and lay the groundwork for achieving them. I learn about their motivations, family dynamics, fears, and hopes, and help them determine how to achieve their peace of mind through effective estate planning. As a result, I become a trusted advisor to the whole family and it is a role I cherish. This work is fulfilling to me and helps me participate in building a stronger community.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University in 2008. I double majored in Forensic Chemistry and Criminal Justice. I transitioned from there into infectious disease research. I worked with one of the leading infectious disease doctors in Houston, and we published our findings in peer-reviewed medical journals. After a few years, I hung up my lab coat and attended law school at The University of Houston Law Center. I graduated and passed the Bar Exam in 2014.
After Law School, I joined the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. There I learned effective advocacy and trial techniques. I opened The Burns Phillips Law Firm, PLLC in 2017.
