John graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, in 1977, with a B.A. in Government, and graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1980. While in college, John spent time studying in London, England, and in Washington, D.C., where he interned in the U.S. Senate office of Senator Hubert H. Humphrey. Upon graduating from law school, John began his career by clerking for a State District Court judge and then joined the firm of Courey, Schwinn & Kodadek in Minneapolis, where he later became a shareholder. John began his own law practice, Waldron Law Offices, Ltd., in 1996, in the Lake Minnetonka area. In addition to a significant emphasis on estate planning, his practice focuses on probate, real estate law, asset protection, business law, and general litigation.
John has been a past member of a local city planning commission, a local human rights commission, a board member of the Lake Minnetonka Area Chamber of Commerce, a past President of that organization, and currently serves as a board member of the Lake Minnetonka Regional Arts Council. He has been assisting individuals and families with their estate planning needs for over 28 years and enjoys getting to know his clients and their needs and developing a personal relationship with his clients. He has assisted in planning estates of all sizes, from the very small to the very large.
John has been married to his wife, Lynn, for over 25 years and they have three children. Their oldest is completing his Masters of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, as well as beginning another Masters program in mental health counseling. Their daughter is completing her bachelor’s degree in business at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota, and their youngest is in his second year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, pursuing a business degree. John and Lynn enjoy being active in their local church, as well as lake activities, tennis, biking, and vacationing.
