When I came across the New Law Business Model program, I was working for a firm. At the firm I was working for, I was never taught how to get clients and how do you engage a client, how do you do an initial consultation. It wasn’t clear, even in watching my boss at the firm, how to nail down a structure that allowed for any consistency or time management; the consultations were filled with so much legal jargon and meetings could drag on and on. Having the basic structure, scripts and process from this program has allowed me to respect my time, my clients’ time and has set me up for success doing business in a way that works for me and my life.
I embraced the program wholeheartedly from the beginning of my practice, which was about 10 years ago and as a result I run a law practice that involves zero litigation, no court hearings or deadlines. I instead get to meet with clients who want to make a difference in the lives of their loved ones, and for me, that is a very special person. I learned the details of providing a really thorough plan and client services as a result of the New Law Business Model Personal Family Lawyer program. I get so many flowers and gifts from appreciative clients, implementing practices and procedures I never learned in law school and wouldn’t have considered creating if I were just figuring this all out on my own. In addition, when I wasn’t able to be as active in my practice last year, the client load didn’t suffer. Because my staff is trained so well as a result of the strategies in the Personal Family Lawyer program, I was able to take the time I needed and was able to jump back in as though no time had passed. Our phones are ringing off the hook, despite it being January which is traditionally a really slow month.
