I’m Asking You For Help!
August 16, 2007 – 4:59 pmI’m starting to discover it feels really great to ask for help!
If you haven’t tried it lately, do.
I’ve got so many things going on at once, I finally realized, I can’t do it all alone!
For years, I’ve been asking my mom to move out here, but I never did it from a place of asking for her help.
And now that I have, she’s moving!
Yippee!
I asked my ex for help too and he stepped up to the plate.
Hm, that seems to work a lot better than demanding. I realize now that I’ve been approaching him from a place of entitlement instead of appreciation.
I felt it was his “duty” to help me and so instead of asking for his help, I demanded it.
Frankly, that doesn’t work too well.
And, if you aren’t feeling supported by people around you, take a look and ask yourself whether you’ve been asking for help or demanding it.
If you’ve been demanding it, try asking for help instead and see what happens. Share your experiences with me by posting a comment on my blog - www.familywealthmatters.com.
Now, I’m going to ask you for help.
If you are a member of a mommy and me group, a preschool, an email list of moms or dads, or any other groups that can announce my Kids Protection workshop on Saturday at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Manhattan Beach.
They’ve got a great playspace for kids and we’ve got babysitters all lined up and a huge room for me to speak in and not very many people comin’ at all.
The event starts at 10:00a and will be over by 11:30a so folks can enjoy the beautiful rest of the day.
If you know any parent who has not yet gotten around to making sure their kids would be taken care of if anything happened to them or might be relying on a plan that doesn’t include “Temporary Guardian” provisions and instructions, I’d sure appreciate your help spreading the word.

It’s summertime, people are away, preschools are closed and we have had a heck of a time getting the word out and about, so I really appreciate your help.
To your Family’s Wealth, Health and Happiness,
Alexis
PS - Next week I’ll tell you all about the meeting I had with Doug Freeman, who counsels families with assets in excess of $50,000,000 on how to prepare their kids to receive wealth. I have some exciting information to share about how your kids can learn the same thing the really, really rich kids are learning that will keep their family building wealth at each generation instead of losing it.
