EZ Bake Oven Recall
February 8, 2007 – 6:29 amAttention Parents: If you are anything like me, your children got an Easy Bake Oven this Christmas. Well, Hasbro apparently got sued when a little one stuck her hand in it and got burned and now you need to call Hasbro so they can send you a piece that will prevent that from happening. You’ll then get the piece and put it on your Easy Bake Oven. What are the chances of all of that happening at my house?
Pretty much zilch. But, I’ve now been forewarned and if either Kaia or Noah stick a hand in the EZ Bake Oven, I’m not getting any sort of financial recovery.
Of course, I recommend you do call them and get yours taken care of.
I’ve repasted the whole recall notice for you here:
In a news alert, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission instructed guardians to "immediately take the recalled oven away from children under 8 years of age and contact the firm (at 1-800-601-8418) for a retrofit," adding that "young children can insert their hands into the oven ’s opening and get their hands or fingers caught, posing an entrapment and burn hazard." The recall applies only to ovens purchased since May 2006, Hasbro says.
